G. Bernhard (Biospherical Instruments) and J. E. Frederick (U. Chicago) – Measurement of spectral irradiance between 280 and 600 nm with an SUV-100 spectroradiometer. The instrument is calibrated with standard lamps every two week. Observations started in December 1990. The system was part of the National Science Foundation’s Arctic Observing Network and was decommissioned in July 2016 due to the lack of funds. It is currently stored at the NOAA facility in Barrow while new funding is sought.
